Sunday Showcase Indeed!

18 pts | 20 asts | 17 rebs (you’re kidding, right?)

Nope. This was Boston Celtics’ PG Rajon Rondo’s stat-line in today’s OT win over the New York Knicks. It was Rondo’s 4th triple-double of the season and his 2nd…this week! Oh, and Boston is shopping this guy to other teams before the trade deadline? C’mon man!

What an entertaining game to start the day. Clutch shot-making by Carmelo Anthony, Jeremy Lin[sanity] and Paul Pierce late in the 4th quarter led to overtime, where the Boston Celtics pulled away for the win.

This was followed by [Los] Lakers defeating [El] Heat in Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant aka The Masked Mamba had his 3rd straight 30+ pt game since donning The Mask after a hard-foul from Heat SG Dwayne Wade at the All-Star Game last Sunday that broke Kobe’s nose and concussed him. The week was filled with questions about whether there would be retribution, but there was none given. (A little disappointing in that regard. Just a little…)

Oh, and one Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets netted (see what I did there?) a career and team-high 57 points in a victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

It’s been a long time since I have been this interested in basketball. Silly of me to even consider that I wouldn’t miss this game if the lockout wiped out this whole season. This shortened and condensed NBA schedule has made for some very interesting games lately after a slow start to the season.
